The Arctic Ceramic Centre is the northernmost ceramics center in the world located in Posio – Finland, which offers great facilities and a peaceful environment for making ceramics.
The Ceramics Centre has a unique setting for hobbyists and professionals alike, to find inspiration, encounters and enjoy Lapland’s nature.
ACC’s ceramics studio offers approximately 100m2 of working space and the space includes 2 electric kilns, a large 3000l gas kiln, a wood kiln and a beautiful lake view directly from the working space.
The Arctic Ceramics Centre organizes high-level course activities for amateur ceramicists in its facilities. Hotel Kirikeskus’ high-quality facilities offer an excellent setting for course activities.
The premises of the ceramics centre are also offered for artist residency during all seasons. The high level of equipment, such as Finland’s largest gas kiln in public use (3000l), also enables the firing of very large works during the residency.
The Arctic Ceramics Centre aims to organize an annual symposium to which ceramic artists from around the world are invited. ACC’s symposiums have gathered ceramic artists to be inspired by Lapland’s nature and to work together 12 times already.
ACC’s ceramics gallery operates in connection with the centre, in which an exhibition of symposium artists is organized annually. In addition, the gallery’s multipurpose spaces are used as a venue for other possible exhibitions as needed. The gallery is open by appointment.
